Wild Giraffes
Have you ever wondered how to draw a giraffe? Ask any ACGC 5th grade artist and they can tell you. As a class, we go through a step by step guided drawing lesson where students are taught how to put lines on their paper so that they can learn how to draw a giraffe’s head. Self-expression comes in to the scene when students need to make these amazing wild animals even more “wild” by adding strange, unique, and unexpected additions to their artwork to make it a bit off the wall. They take the basic drawing that we worked on as a class and make it stand out from the rest by adding details such as sunglasses, jewelry, tattoos, headphones, scarves, hats, etc. The list goes on and there is no limit to the creative ideas that the 5th grade artists come up with.
