Keith Haring Posters
Keith Haring was an artist who was famous for his roles in the activism to bring awareness to AIDS in the 1980's. His art work is credited for being the "poster" of the movement for awareness, research and prevention during this era.
Students were shown a slide show presentation on Keith Haring's art and listened to a lecture on what it stood for. Art made for a cause…..can art really define a movement of change and awareness? Yes! Graphic Design encompasses art made for the public, and Haring's work was done just in that way. His images of simple figures painted very colorfully and usually in a dancing sort of way became easily recognizable and were associated with the major movement to prevent and halt this disease.
